The Mission of Camp Wisdom United Methodist Church is to "Share our faith in Jesus Christ by loving, teaching and encouraging people in our community to become faithful believers and re-connect to God through our praise and worship
Vision Statement
Camp Wisdom UMC is a unified community of faith that is on one accord and
re-connected to God throught enthusiastic worship and praise. We are a
living, growing and and organized community of faith that is actively
involved in local and foreign missions. We are a ithing community of faith
and our members are active and articulate in the five purpose ministries.
The Camp Wisdom community os faith supports numerour sub-communities that
contribute to our safe community, including childcare, employment
development, homeless care, senior citizens, assisted living and others.

Mayor Elzie Odom to Visit Camp Wisdom Sunday, Feburary 26th
"Counting
My Blessings" is a historic compilation of Odom's life,spanning eight
decades through key milestones in our nation's black history. It includes
details of his triumph over racial and ethnic barriers to become the "first
black..." in several career and elected positions:
The first black elected school board offical in Orange County,
Texas. He later helped desegregate the schools;
The first black postal inspector in the State of Texas,
one of only five in the nation;
The first and only black elected to serve on
Arlington City Council. Served as Mayor from 1997-2003.
The book was published by Author House. Autographed copies Will be available
at the church for $12.00
